Off-road kits are the generally made for vehicles that don't have to meet any sort of emission regulations and generally have carburetors.  Newer fuel injected vehicles  can be easily converted by the DIY mechanic using very economical universal injection systems.  Propane is especially well suited to off-road applications because of the propane fuel system's ability to run in virtually any orientation.
